Review of SDG 4.7.2 Data Collection and Reporting
An increasing number of learning systems are investing in HIV and sexuality education, yet very little is known about how these efforts are carried out and to what degree of success. Learn More was tasked by UNESCO to review data collection and reporting procedures for SDG 4.7.2 indicator (Percentage of schools that provided life skills-based HIV and sexuality education), assessing how many schools in each country conduct sexuality education. Learn More ran case studies of 20 UNESCO member countries analyzing EMIS data and conducting interviews with EMIS focal points and UNESCO representatives, identifying challenges, and providing recommendations for the improvement of reporting accuracy, quality, and response rates.
